CrystalDiskMark’s sequential read/write results confirm what we saw in the real-world file transfer tests. The HS-210 is slightly faster than the TS-220 and much slower than the DS214play. It’s also considerably faster when using Seagate’s NAS hard drives instead of the WD Red drives – again, consistent with what we’ve seen everywhere else.
When measuring random 512K performance we see that the QNAP HS-210 delivered similar read results when using the WD Red and Seagate NAS drives, however, its write performance on the other hand was 41% better with the Seagate setup.
When measuring random 4K-QD32 performance, the HS-210 bombs just like the TS-220, delivering the slowest results of any NAS tested.
