When compared to the competition, the M6S 256GB is one of the more expensive SSDs money can buy at this capacity. There are much cheaper alternatives, such as the Crucial M500 240GB, Kingston SSDNow V300 240GB, SanDisk Ultra Plus 256GB and ADATA Premier Pro SP600, all of which retail for just $120 or $0.50 per gigabyte. Consumers can also choose from the Samsung 840 Evo 250GB, OCZ Vertex 460 240GB or ADATA XPG SX900 256GB at $140, while $160 can buy the OCZ Vector 150 240GB, Kingston HyperX 240GB and SanDisk X210 256GB....

The FBI has a very simple but extremely important job within the United States, and occasionally even outside of the country. The agency is tasked with ensuring citizens are safe from potential threats or fraud, while also providing intelligence to the government when needed. A possible harm to consumers became apparent to the FBI and the bureau was quick to release a PSA covering the hazard. As more products begin to require the use of batteries, people may look towards finding cheaper batteries in hopes of saving some money....

The Radeon RX 580 was around 13% slower than the GTX 1060 in Dishonored 2, in fact the RX 580 only just broke the 60fps barrier at 1080p while the GTX 1060 only dipped to 55fps, a clear win for the Nvidia GPUs here. Watch Dogs 2 is the third triple A title released last November that we test with and it’s certainly one of the most demanding on system resources....

The results in 3DMark are on par with what I expected from a GTX 1060. It’s approximately 29 percent slower than the GTX 1070 in GPU-limited tests, however it provides a significant 44 percent advantage on average over last-generation GTX 970M laptops. The Razer Blade performs within a few percent of the other GTX 1060 gaming laptops we’ve tested, within the margin of error. There are no performance issues found here....

Razer just released the DeathAdder V3 Pro, a premium wireless gaming mouse with a right-handed ergonomic shape. Although it comes with all sorts of new technologies, the most noticeable difference is that it’s 28 percent lighter than its predecessor, weighing just 63 grams. To achieve that weight reduction, the company completely redesigned the mouse, removing all RGB lighting (other than the battery indicator LED) and combining the power and DPI switches into one button at the bottom....

On the gaming front, the situation has improved but for the most part the Ryzen processor trails Intel old quad-core. On the upside, three years ago the 7700K was ~20% faster than the R7 1700 for playing games, while today that margin has shrunk considerably to ~5%. Clearly as games have become more demanding, having more cores has played to AMD’s advantage. Either way, while interesting to watch, that comparison may be somewhat irrelevant today....

According to a new study by Atlas VPN, Apple’s Safari web browser just passed the 1 billion user mark, making it the second browser ever to achieve this feat. The Atlas VPN team reached these statistics by taking the total number of internet users, which is currently estimated to be over 5.2 billion, and dividing it based on GlobalStats’ browser market share percentages. It’s also worth noting that these numbers include both desktop and mobile users....

The Samsung 470 Series 256GB performance was remarkable matching our best record ever set by the Crucial RealSSD C300 256GB. This means both drives were faster than the OCZ Vertex 2 Pro 100GB, which uses the SandForce controller, by a convincing 37 seconds. The program copy test is made up of many small non-compressed files. This is where SSDs typically struggle and in the past cheaper drives have proven to be slower than traditional hard drives....

Samsung’s first generation Galaxy S flagship smartphone, and the myriad variants it spawned, helped drive Samsung to the top of the heap in the Android world. It was fast, had a great display, and offered a solid user experience in general. Samsung’s second time at bat, however, promises bigger and better things. The new Samsung Galaxy S II is even larger, yet much thinner, and features a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus display and well over twice the processing power of the original....

In graphics benchmarks, the Galaxy S6’s GPU outperforms the Snapdragon Galaxy S5’s GPU by around 55%, which is a good result. The Mali-T760 MP8 also outperforms the Mali-T628 MP6 in the Exynos Galaxy S5 by 109%, the higher-clocked Mali-T628 MP6 in the Exynos Galaxy Alpha by 84%, and the Mali-T760 MP6 in the Exynos Galaxy Note 4 by 33%. Compared to the Adreno 420 in the Snapdragon 805, the Galaxy S6 GPU is 25% faster....

The Galaxy S7 Edge had fantastic battery life, and it’s great to see the Galaxy S8+ largely living up the performance of its predecessor here. Interestingly, the S8+ lasts longer in more processor-heavy benchmarks, like PCMark and GFXBench, but it falls behind by a small margin in our web browsing tests. The Galaxy S8+ performs well when compared to other current-generation flagships. It outperforms the Pixel XL by around 10 percent on average, though it falls behind the massive Huawei Mate 9 and its huge battery....

If you’ve used TouchWiz on the Galaxy S6 or Note 5, many of the Tab S2’s software elements will be familiar to you, such as the basic lockscreen with weather, time and notification info, and the notification pane with its quick setting toggles. The homescreen has been enlarged to a 6x5 grid with five apps in the dock, and many of the widgets included have only been slightly modified for a tablet interface....

It’s a similar story in GPU performance. The Core m3-6Y30 is much faster in GPU workloads than the last-gen M-5Y70, sometimes by as much as 60%, but this system isn’t going to be a gaming machine any time soon. The Core i7-6500U is still a good 40% faster in graphics-heavy tasks; another advantage the higher TDP U-series parts have. NAND performance from the TabPro S is solid without being spectacular....

Prolific leaker Evan Blass published the apparently official images on 91Mobiles, showing some of the phones’ different color options from a variety of angles. The Z Fold 4 is shown in what is a surprisingly nice-looking beige option with a gold hinge and trim. There’s also the ever-popular black, which Samsung usually calls Phantom Black, and a gray/green color—probably the same Phantom Green from the Z Fold 3. No sign of the reported Burgundy Red, though....

Wow. I wasn’t sure what to expect here but pushing over 1.1GB/s for an on-disk copy is impressive stuff. Previously the 950 Pro held the title here with a throughput of 761MB/s. The 960 Pro was almost 50% faster than that, delivering performance previously unseen. The 950 Pro series was never particularly impressive in our program copy test delivering just 334MB/s. Thankfully, the 960 Pro improves on this by delivering a little over 60% more bandwidth at 542MB/s....

The Extreme II 240GB maxed out at 550MB/s, which is roughly in line with the Samsung SSD 840 Pro 512GB, SSD 830 512GB and OCZ Vector 256GB. SanDisk’s drive performed impressively in the 1K, 2K, 8K and 32K tests. Again, we see that the SanDisk Extreme II 240GB is a beast when working with 1K, 2K and 8K data in Atto Disk Benchmark’s write test. It’s not until we reach the 32K and 128K sets that the other SSDs are able to close in....

At its peak in the 1990s, Silicon Graphics had legendary status among 3D and graphic designers who leveraged the unique power of these workstations that were at cutting edge of visual computing. The legacy of Silicon Graphics can still be seen in the Nintendo 64, which they helped develop, and several Hollywood movies, including Jurassic Park, Twister, Congo, Toy Story, and many others, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves…...

On the front, Sony has upgraded the selfie camera significantly. We’re now getting a 13-megapixel (4160 x 3120) Sony Exmor RS IMX214 1/3" CMOS sensor with 1.12 μm pixels, paired with a 22mm-equivalent f/2.0 lens. This is the same sensor found on the rear of some older flagships, including the OnePlus One and Nexus 6. I was impressed with the quality of the Xperia X Performance’s rear camera. Like with the Xperia Z5, the X Performance delivers very accurate photos with great levels of detail, which keeps it in any discussions concerning the best smartphone camera of the year....

Where the Xperia Z’s stamina was mediocre and failed to last me through a day, the Xperia Z1 redeems itself by producing fairly decent battery life. With a regular amount of moderate usage – such as checking social media regularly, background data syncing, browsing the web, a few messages and calls, and taking a few camera shots – the Xperia Z1 lasts until the end of the day with 30% or more charge remaining....

The Radeon HD 5750 is able to deliver over 30fps minimum with an average of 40fps. Once we reach the Radeon HD 5850 and GeForce GTX 260 graphics cards everything else appears to be overkill at this resolution. Again the newly released GeForce GTX 460 is able to match the performance of the big boys at a fraction of the cost.
