Ewan McGregor, who is reprising his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi, announced that the series premiere date is moving from May 25 to May 27. While it’s now set to debut on Friday, all future episodes will be added on Wednesdays. The announcement video, tweeted by the official Disney+ Twitter account, includes clips from the show’s official trailer. Disney never said why the show was being pushed back by a couple of days, though IGN notes that Obi-Wan Kenobi will arrive during Star Wars Celebration 2022, which takes place between May 25 and May 29....

The first AS SSD Benchmark test measures sequential performance. Although the Agility EX was slightly slower than the Vertex Turbo when looking at read performance numbers, the write throughput was up to 29% greater. In that same vein the Agility EX outclassed Corsair’s P128 by a comfortable 58% margin when measuring write performance. The Agility EX continues to shine in the 4K AS SSD Benchmark test as its write throughput matches the read performance of its MLC-based contenders....

A survey released by IT company Lansweeper this week paints a dismal picture for Windows 11 adoption among enterprise workstations. Among over 10 million devices surveyed, just 1.44% ran Windows 11. That’s less than the 1.71% still using the 20-year-old Windows XP and the 4.7% using Windows 7. Windows 10 predictably dominates, detected on 80.34% of systems. Another Lansweeper survey of over 30 million devices reveals what is likely a major factor in Windows 11’s sluggish adoption: over half of enterprise workstations don’t meet its system requirements....

On the outside, the OnePlus 10 Pro’s heavily revised camera module seems to be the only major design difference over its predecessor. It’s OnePlus’ second attempt at exciting mobile photographers with a Hasselblad partnership that’s now dropped the 9 Pro’s monochrome sensor, while the remaining trio of 48MP wide, 50MP ultrawide and 8MP telephoto lenses have been carried over, alongside improvements like better RAW support and updated Hasselblad software. Selfie shooters, meanwhile, can look forward to a 32MP sensor, which doubles the image resolution over the 9 Pro’s 16MP unit....

Researchers at the Oxford Internet Institute in the UK conducted the study in cooperation with seven different game publishers, who allowed them to track the gaming habits of those who had consented to participate in the study. Back in late 2020, the same Oxford team said its research found playing competency-based, socially stimulating games tended to improve the emotional well-being of players. It also noted that participants who play video games for extended periods generally presented happier than those who did not, something the new findings contradict....

The data comes from Microsoft’s Digital Defense Report 2022 (via ZDNet), which analyzed trillions of signals from the Redmond company’s global ecosystem of products and services to reveal the scale of cyberthreats worldwide. The number of hacking incidents has jumped enormously over the last year, thanks primarily to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February and the resulting cyberwarfare between nations. But hackers still favor password-based attacks; Microsoft estimates that 921 of these take place every minute....

Lenovo led the pack with 16.9 million PC shipments, a contraction of 16.1 percent year over year. HP finished in second place with 12.7 million units shipped followed by Dell with 12 million PCs shipped. VR dev Kenji Iguchi (via Kotaku) highlighted Razer’s new Southeast Asia headquarters in a tweet. Opened in October last year, the building is located in One-north, Singapore’s technology and business hub. “Standing tall as one of the most distinctive architectural landmarks in One-north, Razer’s new headquarters features an iconic black façade with acid green lines streaking across the building – a tribute to the brand’s instantly recognizable aesthetic,” writes Razer....

The Blade performs well for a laptop with such powerful hardware inside. In fact in a number of tests, the Razer Blade performs around the level of a mid-tier ultrabook. We’re still seeing top-end 13-inch ultrabooks like the HP Spectre x360 outperform the Blade by a few hours, but in general, the Blade holds its own. If you want to game on battery, you’ll be lucky to get longer than an hour of life without constraining the performance of the GPU significantly....

At $120, the ManO’War Wired sits in the same price bracket as other top-tier wired headsets such as the HyperX Cloud Revolver and the Logitech G633. If you don’t require wireless connectivity, which adds an extra $50 to the price, this could be a great option to consider, though it does face stiff competition in the gaming headset market. Russian communications regulator Roskomnadzor forced Google this week to remove tens of thousands of search results that link to resources used by Russians to circumvent bans placed on certain news sites and social media platforms. Internet users in the country have been flocking to VPN services to get access to restricted sources of information, with one analysis estimating that demand for the top 10 most popular VPN apps has surged by 1,092 percent between February 24 and March 9....

In January 2021, Safari had 10.38 percent of the market compared to Edge’s 7.81 percent. As of this past January, Safari was sitting at 9.84 percent with Edge close behind at 9.54. Should current trends continue, it won’t be long before Edge overtakes Safari. Mozilla’s browser could also make a play for the podium as Firefox had a market share of 9.18 percent last month and has been trending upward since late 2021....

It’s also worth noting that the Note 5’s battery is not removable, unlike every previous version of the Galaxy Note. While I personally don’t care if a battery is non-removable, as an OEM can cut down on device size by removing the plastic housing and removable back cover that’s required to facilitate a replaceable battery, this change will undoubtedly annoy some power users who like swapping out batteries on the go....

It’s pretty much a certainty that the designs of the two latest foldables will look very similar to their predecessors—leaked renders suggest telling the two generations apart won’t be easy. Leaked specs do claim, however, that the Fold 4 will be shorter than last year’s model to allow for a wider front display. It’s also said to be around 20g lighter. Sadly, it does appear that rumors of an S-Pen slot integrated into the chassis, Galaxy Note-style, were incorrect....

Here we see that when working with small files, the 960 Evo can deliver similar performance to that of the 960 Pro and 950 Pro series. Once the size of the data reaches 32K the Evo starts to fall behind. That said, it’s still worlds faster than the Intel SSD 600p Series as well as any SATA SSD. The 960 Evo is a hero when measuring sequential write performance, this has already been seen previous with AS SSD Benchmark and CrystalDiskMark....

As you likely know, while manufacturers claim impressive peak I/O performance out of the box, this performance can diminish over time. Unlike a conventional hard drive, any write operation made to an SSD is a two-step process: a data block must be erased and then written to. Obviously if the drive is new and unused there will be nothing to erase and therefore the first step can be bypassed, but this only happens once unless the drive is trimmed....
