The FC Barcelona stadium kept its name unchanged for 65 years, but Spotify sponsorship was apparently enough to consider a rebranding. Barcelona’s board of directors have already agreed on the new name. Still, it has to be approved by the extraordinary delegate members assembly before it can be set in stone. The decisive meeting is scheduled for April 3. Starting in the 2022/23 season and for the next four seasons, the Spotify logo will appear on men’s and women’s equipment....

In an interview with Famitsu this week, the producer and director of Final Fantasy XI dispelled rumors that Square Enix was planning to shut down the aging MMORPG this year. Those rumors may originate from the cancellation of the mobile port last year. Final Fantasy XI originally launched on PlayStation 2 and PC in 2002, and on Xbox 360 in 2006. However, Square Enix took the PS2 and 360 versions offline in 2016, and the game has since been PC-only....

Intel has responded with the 13th-gen Core series, retaking the gaming throne with the 32-thread Core i9-13900K, albeit by a slim margin when using similarly expensive DDR5 memory. In all-core workloads, Intel is only able to match Zen 4 when comparing CPUs with the same number of threads, while using much more power. With the current Threadripper 5000 series offering expensive Pro models only, Ryzen 9 may be the most sensible choice for core-heavy workloads unless you’re building something powerful for your business needs....

The game appears to only be optimized for quad-core processors, as just four threads of the Core i7-2600K were active when playing. However, of those four threads, only one reached between 90-100% while the other three worked at around 30-50%. This means a decent dual-core processor should have no trouble playing Skyrim. This is possibly the first game we’ve tested that truly stresses the i7-2600K. Reducing the chip to 2GHz lowered the GTX 580’s average frame rate to just 44fps....

Going from high to ultra had no impact on most of AMD’s cards. Nvidia’s cards did lose a few frames per second, as illustrated by the GTX 560’s 4fps drop to 85fps. Over the weekend, Polyphony Digital pushed a patch that effectively nerfed credit collection in Gran Turismo 7. Gaining credits is much slower now because of reduced payouts on many races. Players view it as a money grab by Sony and Polyphony since it pushes them to grind for days and days for a single car or purchase credits.
