The GTX 480 and 570 averaged 52fps, while the HD 7950 dipped to 48fps and the older HD 6970 averaged 44fps, a fraction faster than the 43fps produced by the GTX 560 Ti and HD 7870. For this resolution, hardcore gamers will want nothing less than an HD 7950 while the HD 7970/GTX 580 or better would be ideal....
Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) will build a new plant to bring its 3 nanometer chip manufacturing process to the US. What previously was just a hope is now starting to resemble a full-fledged plan as the founder of the world’s most valuable semiconductor company recently confirmed in a meeting with the press. Plans for a second plant to be built in the same Arizona location where TSMC is already building its first factory are not completely finalized yet....
Fortunately, the movie’s director took the criticism in stride and announced a three-month delay to give Sonic a makeover. The end result was a character that more closely resembled Sega’s mascot from the Genesis days. It worked at the box office, too, as the film had the best domestic opening for a movie based on a video game across three- and four-day openings. Paramount and everyone involved with “Ugly Sonic” likely figured that was the last they’d heard of the blunder, but Disney had other plans....
The Umi Touch delivers great battery life in most of our tests, sitting towards the top of our charts across the board. The large battery does take a while to charge, and there doesn’t appear to be any quick charging mechanism, but it’s clear Umi wanted for focus on battery life first and foremost with the Touch. In that respect, the Touch delivers. There are some things to note, though....

Although the interface has kept evolving and became mainstream in this last decade, it’s starting to show its age when performance is a concern. The interface’s maximum throughput of 60MB/s is no longer cutting it, especially when you consider the fact that its communication is half-duplex, meaning that data can flow both ways, but not at the same time....

If you don’t use an Apple machine, Quick Look allows macOS fans to swiftly preview files by pressing the spacebar when one is highlighted and selected. This is tremendously useful for sorting through large groups of similarly-named text documents, but it can be used for media files as well. Quick Look also allows users to zoom in and out on a file, resize its preview window, rotate it, mark it up (with basic drawing and editing tools), view multiple selected items in a grid, and even share the file directly from your machine....

Developer Splash Damage originally planned to launch the game as a commercial expansion for Return to Castle Wolfenstein, but problems with the single-player campaign prompted them to release the multiplayer aspect as a standalone, freeware game. Less than a year later, publisher Activision made the game’s source code available to modders. Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory has been available from other outlets, including directly from Splash Damage, for a while now....
Three weeks ago, Activision Blizzard announced what was coming to the Warcraft franchise this year. With three expansions coming to Hearthstone and the debut of the series on mobile platforms, there’s a lot to expect from Warcraft. Moreover, WoW is also receiving a new expansion, and like previous ones, fans have high expectations. Blizzard scheduled the upcoming expansion’s announcement for April 19, where we expect to learn more about the new content coming with it, the release date, and the name....

The Excel 2010 results were extremely close for the most part, though the Asrock Z77 Extreme6 did squeak ahead with a time of just 4.39 seconds. The Intel DZ77GA-70K and Gigabyte Z77X-UD5H-WB followed at 4.46 and 4.49 seconds respectively, while the ECS Z77H2-AX settled at 4.52 seconds. WinRAR’s compression performance was extremely close, with the exception of the ECS Z77H2-AX, which was much slower than the other Z77 boards for whatever reason....
Here’s where things become tricky. The Chrome Web Store has a ton of apps. The issue is that many of the apps aren’t apps. Rather they’re bookmarks to web pages. Pandora is an example of this. The bookmark works fine. Obviously Pandora.com works correctly in a Chrome window, but this is not a native app by any stretch. The same hold true for other standbys like Dropbox and Evernote. There’s another side to this coin though....
Well, the Asus isn’t the only such monitor on the market. The new Acer Predator X27 uses the same AU Optronics panel, so they’re both equipped with the same specifications, but that doesn’t mean they perform the same as I’ll discuss a bit later. In terms of design, it’s an easy win to Acer here. The Predator X27 is simply a far more attractive and well built product compared to the PG27UQ, certainly more fitting of its monstrous price tag....
The EEOC was one of several organizations that brought claims against Activision Blizzard last year, accusing the company of sexually harassing and discriminating against its female employees. The $18 million settlement was reached with the commission last September and has now been signed by US District Judge Dale S Fischer, making it official. The judgment means that anyone who worked at Activision Blizzard since September of 2016 can submit a claim to join the settlement, as long as it relates to sexual harassment or gender discrimination....
