The Most Loved Workplace Is One Of The Few Tech Giants On This Top 100 List

Newsweek worked with the Florida-based Best Practise Institute (BPI) to survey 1.4 million employees at 450 companies, from small organizations to mega corporations, to find out which firms generate the most love from their workers. External public ratings from sites such as Glassdoor and additional research were also used to determine rankings. The results show employee happiness comes from several factors, including offering remote work, opportunities for career advancement, benefits such as 401(k) plans, and a firm’s approach teamwork, collaboration, and ethics....

Thecus N3200Xxx Nas Review Benchmarks File Upload Performance

Things improved for Thecus’ offering in the game test as it matched the Synology DS211 with an average transfer speed of 40.6MB/s and beat the LG N2A2 by a 71% margin. Nonetheless, our desktop system still edged ahead by 16%. The N3200XXX handles our program test very well for the second time, providing an upload rate of 25.4MB/s. That was 22% faster than our desktop test system and 27% faster than the Synology DS211 – impressive to say the least....

Then And Now Almost 10 Years Of Intel Cpus Compared Encoding Performance

Encoding 720p content using the H.264 codec can still be done at reasonably high frame rates on a Core 2 Quad processor. The Q9650 for example hit 115.4fps, which was just a few frames faster than the Pentium G3220, and the Celeron G1820 matched the Q6600. The i3-4350 wasn’t far behind the i7-870, though it was considerably faster than the i5-760. Again we see the Sandy Bridge Core i5-2500K and 2700K performing well....

Tiny Nas Battle Synology Ds414Slim Vs Qnap Ts 453Mini Two Great Compact Nas Devices

The base configuration for the TS-453mini costs almost 80% more than the DS414slim, while the 8GB model costs well over twice as much. Moreover the TS-453mini isn’t just faster and more expensive, it is also physically larger. While that is primarily because it can support 3.5" drives, it also has to do with the internal hardware, which requires a lot more cooling than the Marvell Armada 370 used by the DS414slim....

Tomb Raider Performance Test Graphics Cpu Cpu Performance

The above data suggests that Tomb Raider isn’t particularly CPU-intensive, as our Core i7-3770K offered virtually identical performance when clocked at 2.5GHz as it did at 4.0GHz. In fact, an 80% increase in clock speed to 4.5GHz resulted in a frame rate boost of only 1%. The AMD FX-8350 tells a similar story as the 80% clock speed increase accounted for just 4% more performance. When testing a broad range of CPUs, we found that most recent quad-core or better chips gave about the same performance of 77 to 79fps, while the Athlon II X4 640 fell to 71fps, the Core i3-3220 hit 69fps and the dual-core Phenom II and Athlon II chips were 20% slower than their higher-end counterparts, but still served playable performance....

Uber Is Working With Automakers To Develop Custom Ride Sharing And Delivery Vehicles

Uber-inspired vehicles for ride sharing would feature lower top speeds and seating areas where passengers can face each other. Khosrowshahi said the top speeds of many cars today are not necessary for city driving. Dialing back this capability can reduce the overall cost of the vehicle. Uber is also considering delivery-specific two-wheelers or three-wheelers with trunk space. Their smaller footprint would be able to get through traffic easier, Khosrowshahi said, and also have less of an environmental impact than a full-size car delivering groceries....

Umi Touch Review All Specs No Polish

OnePlus, another Chinese startup founded by former Oppo employees, succeeded in competing with other electronics giants by selling well rounded and affordable Android phones, however they tend to be the exception rather than the rule. Historically I’ve taken issue with smaller OEMs and the devices they produce as they rarely live up to their advertised claims, making quality a big hit or a huge miss seemingly at random. However, I am willing to give any company a chance to impress, which is why I have the Umi Touch in the office to review....

Windows 8 Vs Windows 7 Performance Faster Slower Better

Microsoft seemed to hit full stride with Windows 7, developing a fast and efficient operating system. Thankfully it seems Windows 8 continues to build on that pattern as we found it to be on par with and ocassionally faster than 7. The improvements that have been made to startup and shutdown times are self-evident, and no doubt a major focus on the new OS’ development as this will particularly benefit laptop and tablet users....

Wolfenstein The New Order Is Currently Free On The Epic Games Store

While giving away titles is a common occurrence on the Epic Games Store, the platform’s Mega Sale has seen some of the most memorable titles of the last few years handed out for nothing. First was Borderlands 3, then came BioShock: The Collection. Now, it’s the game that sees the return of one of the best-named heroes of all time (B.J. Blazkowicz) in Wolfenstein: The New Order. The New Order remains arguably the best game in the franchise....

You Can Mod The Google Pixel 6A And Bump The Refresh Rate Up To 90Hz

It all started when some curious developers noticed that the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6a share an integral piece of display hardware: something that their software recognizes as the s6e3fc3, which the developers thought was the panel or its controller. In theory, then, if the Pixel 6 supports a 90 Hz refresh rate, the 6a should, too, and could be limited to 60 Hz by software, not hardware. Working from this theory, a developer called TheLunarixus came up with a way to see if the Pixel 6a’s panel was overclockable....

Another problem they pose is remembering which SSO you used for every website you’ve visited....

A Look Back At The Geforce Gtx 780 In 2017

The GTX 680 was later refreshed as the GTX 770 with higher clocked GDDR5 memory, but shortly prior to that we received the GTX 780, a brand new bit of silicon that boosted the core count by a whopping 50% and took the die size to 561mm2, which wasn’t even the full configuration. All 2880 CUDA cores weren’t enabled until the GTX 780 Ti landed six months later. At the time, these big Kepler cards were mighty impressive....

Akamai Curbed A New Record Ddos Attack Against One Of Its European Customers

Akamai Technologies protected one of its Eastern European customers against a massive DDoS attack, a new record-setting flow of malicious traffic that tried to take the company’s infrastructure offline. The content delivery network and cloud provider said the new attack is the worst ever recorded in Europe, with peak traffic of 704.8 Mpps and more widespread targets compared to the previous attack. A distributed denial-of-service attack (DDoS) happens when multiple “zombie” or bot systems flood the bandwidth or resources of a targeted system, exploiting more than one unique IP address or machines – often from thousands of hosts infected with malicious software....
