When working with 1K data, the Plextor M6e delivered 75MB/s and the M6S and M6M a rather snappy 63MB/s. Those are the highest 1K read results we have ever received from an SSD of any kind as the OCZ RevoDrive 350 managed just 26MB/s. The next fastest SSDs were the SanDisk Extreme II 240GB and Samsung SSD 840 Pro 512GB with 55MB/s. Plextor’s SSDs were at the top of their game when working with 2K data as well and the M6e remained strong as the data increased beyond 8K, though the performance of the M6S and M6M became more typical....

Details have been scarce around Raptor Lake — Intel’s last architecture built on the Intel 7 process node. Earlier this year, the company revealed that it would offer an “up to double-digit performance boost” with its 13th-gen processors compared to Alder Lake. Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands plays into the favor of the GTX 1060, here it was 11% faster than the RX 570, at 1080p. That said at 1440p the 570 came back as it often does to match the 1060. The GTX 1060 just manages to come away with the win in Mass Effect: Andromeda, edging out the RX 570 by a 6% margin at 1080p. The 1060 also held its lead at 1440p though with both GPUs rendering less than 40 fps on average you’ll want to reduce the quality settings here....

The Blade Pro only came with two programs installed that aren’t considered necessary to basic Windows functions: Razer Comms and Razer Synapse. In GPU-limited benchmarks, we’re looking at a performance gain of around 43% compared to the Exynos 7420’s Mali-T760MP8. The lead is smaller when comparing the Mali-T880MP12 to the Snapdragon 810’s Adreno 430, at just 32% when looking at the Galaxy S7 Edge versus the Google Nexus 6P (also a 1440p device). However, the gains on the GPU side are still pretty decent in both situations, and help mitigate some performance issues in high-end games running at 1440p....

In our review we spent quite a bit of time talking about the shocking thermal performance. We knew the 9900K was going to be a seriously power hungry CPU and therefore was going to be a hot item, I just didn’t expect Intel’s first soldered chip in a very long time to run quite as hot as it did. Using relatively low voltages at 5 GHz saw the 9900K peak at 100 degrees with the Corsair Hydro Series H100i Pro or Noctua NH-D15 and we’re talking about some pretty premium coolers....
