The Haswell MicroATX PC we built a couple years back fit that budget at $1,400 sporting a GeForce GTX 760 and a 240GB SSD – generously sized for the time. Then to celebrate the Pentium Anniversary Edition, we explored two affordable builds a year later, each costing half as much as the previous Haswell project. We used Fraps to measure frame rates during a minute of gameplay from the campaign mode right as the game kicks off from the level titled “By The Kings Will.” The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings was tested at three resolutions: 1680x1050, 1920x1200 and 2560x1600. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom launches in May, leaving plenty of time to try out this VR experience based on the game that started it all. YouTuber Sugary Noe has shared a 12-minute video showcasing gameplay from the curious creation, which is listed as The Legend of Doom on the title screen. It was made using the QuestZDoom engine for the Oculus Quest VR headset. As you can see, the overworld has been faithfully recreated with the exact same layout as the original complete with accurate enemy placement, sound effects and music....
More specifically, Crossfire is showing severe output lag which cripples actual visual output and thus real performance. SLI also suffers, but considerably less in comparison. The Congressional Space Medal of Honor is a civilian award, not to be confused with the Medal of Honor for military members. It was introduced in 1969 and awarded to Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin for being the first humans to set foot on the moon. Traditionally, the medal is handed out to those who marked a first in space exploration. Congress also awarded it posthumously to the crews of the space shuttle disasters Challenger and Columbia....

Apple recently updated its iCloud website, giving it a more modern look and more functionality. However, Cupertino also seems to have borked the operation of the iCloud for Windows app. It’s unclear if the two changes are related, but the Windows app is experiencing troubling issues. Some users have reported to MacRumors that their videos are becoming corrupted and unwatchable when syncing with iCloud through the Windows app. Customers with iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 14 Pros say that when they try to sync videos taken with their phone, the recording comes out black with scan lines....
The Windows resources page currently has downloadable GPU, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth drivers. Audio drivers are being worked on by AMD and others but aren’t ready as of writing. As such, the speakers and 3.5mm audio jack will not provide audio, but USB-C or Bluetooth can be used in the interim. Installing Windows requires you to wipe your Steam Deck as dual-booting with SteamOS is not currently available. It’ll eventually be possible to dual-boot on the Steam Deck, but the SteamOS installer that provides the dual-boot wizard isn’t ready yet, Valve said....
The Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA) announced ClearMR, a new display certification program for measuring motion clarity performance. The ClearMR program and logos apply to LCD and self-emissive (OLED, microLED) displays, including monitors, TVs, laptops, and tablets. Most monitor manufacturers currently only advertise best-case scenario gray-to-gray pixel response times, which can be deceptive for multiple reasons. Companies sometimes make measurements with unrealistically high ambient temperatures due to response times considerably improving the hotter a display gets....
Flights will launch from Spaceport America in New Mexico. Future astronauts will stay with their guests at forthcoming custom accommodations and experience several days of preparedness activities. Last month information leaked that Sony is prepped to consolidate its PlayStation Plus and PlayStation Now subscriptions into a tiered service similar to Xbox Game Pass. Game Pass underwent a similar restructuring in 2020 when Microsoft combined Xbox Game Pass, Xbox Gold, and xCloud into a bundled package. Firstly, I’ll talk about the Creative Sound BlasterX Vanguard K08, because its Omron PRES keyswitches are the weakest of the three. Omron has rated these switches for 45 grams of actuation force and an actuation distance of 1.5mm, placing them in the middle of the three keyboards in terms of responsiveness. My main issue with these Omron keyswitches is that they are reasonably mushy for a mechanical keyswitch. Both Cherry MX and Razer switches have a definite ‘click’ to them, but the Omron PRES switches are less defined and feel closer to cheaper non-mechanical keyboards....
If you build a PC yourself, you can still choose one of several great cases with 5.25" bays for optical drives, but if you buy a pre-built desktop, chances are it won’t have such a bay. If you are hoping to recover data from your older hard drives or even floppies (yea, seriously), you may also find out that you can’t connect them to your motherboard. Likewise, if you buy a laptop, a mini PC or an all-in-one today, not only it won’t have an optical drive, but it may also not support the SATA drive from your old computer, or come with a full-size SD card reader....
Here we see that the GTX 780 was able to average just over 60fps at 1080p in Battlefield 1 which is of course playable performance despite being much slower than the GTX 970 and R9 390. Cranking the resolution up to 1440p hammered the GTX 780 down to just 6fps faster than the GTX 1050 Ti and a lot slower than everything else tested. After getting obliterated in Hitman, it was unexpected to see the GTX 780 overtake the GTX 970 in Quantum Break....
