Now we have the ‘Gaming’ range which comes in black, red and white. It’s an interesting range of colors and I am not entirely sure what to make of it....

A disgruntled IT administrator for a real estate firm was sentenced to seven years in prison for wiping his employer’s financial servers. The 40-year-old worker attempted to make the data unrecoverable, prompting the harsh penalty. However, the company was able to rebuild the databases and reenter the lost data at a significant expense. Chinese news outlet Bejing Roar notes that database administrator Han Bing had warned management at his employer, Lianjia, several times about holes in its database security....
Although Dell is positioning the Streak as a tablet device, not a smartphone, we think it’s a bit of both. The 5-inch 800 x 480 capacitive touch screen is significantly bigger than any other smartphone’s, even the massive EVO and HD2, but not quite as large as a typical tablet – the iPad features a 9.7-inch display, for example. The other obvious difference compared to most tablets: you can make calls… if you don’t mind looking a bit foolish with this thing held against your face....

The color quality of the display is excellent, and exactly what I’d expect from a laptop of this class. Vibrant photos are well saturated yet balanced on this panel, and look especially excellent when they’re high resolution. White levels are around the ideal mark with little tinting to either end of the spectrum, while black levels are reasonably good, exhibiting a small amount of backlight bleed in the bottom right corner on my review unit....
While the Nitro’s camera takes great stills, it only creates good videos. It’s true that it can record in 1080p mode, but it appears to be saddled with a fixed focus point when doing so. The fixed-focus forward-facing camera can be used for stills or video, and can even record in 720p mode, which is a seldom seen feature. The Nitro HD’s music application is rock solid. It presents album art in a coverflow-like manner when the phone is held horizontally, and the wide selection of equalizer settings make it easy to tune the sound exactly the way you want it....
The Mini Q PC-V354 measures a petite 245mm wide x 320mm high x 420mm deep, while its all-aluminum design cuts the weight to just 4.17kg. That’s pretty impressive, as the primary competition (the Silverstone SG04) weighs 6.0kg despite being slightly smaller. In true Lian Li fashion, the Mini Q PC-V354 is an extremely bland looking computer case – in a good way, though. The brushed aluminum box features few minor details, but it does come in three colors, being black, silver and red....
The design is also more ergonomic than the G700s. Logitech says that the MX Master features a perfectly sculpted shape that supports your hand and wrist in a comfortable, natural position. That’s not all marketing BS either, the mouse is amazingly well designed for comfort. Performance-wise the MX Master is as good as any Logitech mouse we have reviewed recently. It’s precise and highly customizable. The lift-off distance is about 3 millimetres, though it is unlikely you will be picking it up much....
Already at 1680x1050 we see that turning AA on helps the Radeon HD 5970 increase its lead over the GeForce GTX 480. Whereas it was just 3% faster with AA disabled, turning it on extended this performance margin to 27%. The Radeon HD 5970 still managed to average an impressive 89fps while the GeForce GTX 480 dropped to 70fps. The Radeon HD 5870 is now just 9% slower than the GeForce GTX 480 with 64fps....
Now at 1920x1200, even the R9 290X falls short of achieving 60fps, though it came awfully close at 58fps while the 290 averaged 57fps. The GTX 780 Ti was a fraction slower with 56fps, followed by the GTX Titan at 54fps. The GTX 780 averaged 50fps, 5fps faster than the GTX 770, while the gap between the R9 280X and R9 290 was huge as the cheaper 280X averaged just 40fps....
Last Friday was a rather unlucky day for Windows users and system administrators worldwide. According to multiple reports, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint turned into a shortcut and file “killer” that fateful day, after the security suite began to delete application shortcuts from the Windows Taskbar and Start Menu, sometimes even removing the linked program files from disk. The issue was experienced by multiple system admins on Windows 10 and Windows 11, and its likely cause was soon pinned down to an ASR rule modified by a recent update for Defender....

A GitHub page for Windows-Android subsystem developers has revealed Microsoft’s roadmap for improving Android compatibility on Windows 11. The company’s plans include incorporating the recently-released Android 13. The roadmap displays a column for Android app features Microsoft has either implemented or soon will and another for plans further off in the future. The latter mentions adding Android 13 support and lists tools such as file transfer, shortcuts, picture-in-picture, and default local network access....
Intel’s mobile Arc A-series GPU launch was largely a paper launch, with only a couple of laptop models available on the South Korean market as of writing this. The company managed to brew some enthusiasm amid a troubled GPU market, but it appears the drivers for Team Blue’s dedicated graphics solutions are far from ready with some features having a significant impact on the overall performance. This has delayed the launch of the desktop Arc graphics cards by months, but that hasn’t stopped models like the A770 from making an appearance online....

According to a report from the Associated Press, Nissan is working with NASA on the project. When complete, the battery tech will be stable enough for use in a pacemaker. For vehicle applications, the solid-state batteries will be about half the size of current packs and achieve a full charge in just 15 minutes. Quick-charge batteries could be instrumental in getting consumers to trade in their gasoline-powered vehicles for fully electric models, especially if they are compatible with existing charging infrastructure....
We have seen no indication so far that the minimum frame rate results of the Radeon HD 5870 are unusually weak as they appear relative to the average, whether that means it comes on top or performs below the GTX 480 as is the case here. The GeForce GTX 470 was a whisker faster than the Radeon HD 5850 this time, beating it by a single frame when measuring the average frame rate, while the minimum frame rate was 2fps greater....
The GTX 660 Ti had no problem slicing through Deus Ex: Human Revolution, pushing 87fps at 1920x1200, 18% faster than the HD 7870 and level with the HD 7950 (though Gigabyte’s overclocked card was a notch faster). Testing Hard Reset at 1920x1200 saw the GTX 660 Ti fetch 73fps, matching the HD 7970 while faring 26% better than the HD 7870 and 18% better than the 7950.
