Google Settles Lawsuits Over Deceptive Pixel 4 Ads Involving Influencers

Google and iHeartMedia were hit by lawsuits from The FTC and state attorneys general over almost 29,000 “deceptive” endorsements by radio personalities promoting their use of and experience with Google’s Pixel 4 phone in 2019 and 2020. Bureau of Consumer Protection Director Samuel Levine said Google and iHeartMedia paid influencers to promote the phone, a product they had never used. Some of the Google-provided scripts read by the personalities in the ads included lines such as “It’s my favorite phone camera out there, especially in low light, thanks to Night Sight Mode” and “I’ve been taking studio-like photos of everything....

His Radeon Hd 5850 Review His Radeon Hd 5850 In Detail

The package bundle HIS has prepared for their Radeon HD 5850 card however is more generous than we have come to expect from graphics card manufacturers as of late. Besides the card itself, inside the box we found a CrossFireX bridge adapter, two 6-pin power cable adapters (in case your PSU does not have them), a DVI-VGA adapter, the usual quick reference manuals and a game coupon for DiRT 2....

How To Calibrate Your Monitor

This article will detail the method that we use for display calibration in our monitor reviews, albeit a bit simplified in some areas. We’ll talk about the hardware you need, how to set up your monitor for calibration, and which settings are best to use within the software. We don’t anticipate any of this will be too technical, provided you have the tools this is a relatively straightforward process....

How To Export Old Device Drivers To A New Windows Installation

The device, a “Ralink RT61 Turbo,” was purchased in 2009 and still performs well enough despite not having software updates since Windows Vista/7 and not being automatically recognized by newer versions of the operating system. Not having an Internet connection on a new OS can be particularly annoying because you can’t get online to search for the drivers. After trying to install the card on Windows 10 with many files from around the web (downloaded elsewhere), we discovered that you can export drivers for third-party devices from one copy of Windows to another – great news seeing that we had a previous instance of Windows on another drive where the Wi-Fi card was installed and functional....

Hp Spectre Laptop Review Battery Life

As expected, one of the main issues with the HP Spectre is battery life, which isn’t able to match other laptops on the market. The difference in battery life can be quite significant at times, due to the low battery capacity. Video playback results in particular are disappointing, as this is not a processor-heavy workload, unlike the browser test. This is probably the only area of the Spectre that has been compromised due to weight and thickness constraints....

Htc One M8 Review Dot View Case

The Dot View case is a hardcover plastic shroud for the HTC One M8, complete with a flip-over rubberized cover for protecting the display. The grey unit I received is a fairly standard color, but it also comes in blue, green, red and orange so you can spice up the package if you so choose. It feels tough and well made, and is sure to protect the back from scratches and the front from glass fractures....

Intel Arc 3 A380 Vs Amd Radeon Rx 6400

If you missed it earlier, we covered the A380 for the first time about 2 weeks ago with our standard review format, which looked at performance in a dozen games, compared it with a range of other budget GPUs, while also evaluating power consumption and thermals. The aim for this comparison is to take that testing a big step further with a 51 game benchmark covering 1080p and 900p (1600x900) resolutions using dialed down quality settings....

Intel Core I3 10100 B460 Motherboard Review

Let’s talk a bit about the Core i3-10100. As the successor of the i3-9100, clock speeds are about the same as we’re still looking at 3.6 GHz for the base with a 100 MHz increase for turbo to 4.3 GHz. The key difference between the two is the use of Hyper-Threading, allowing the 10100 to support 8 threads opposed to just 4. In terms of specs, the Core i3-10100 is very similar to 2017’s Core i7-7700, which cost over $300 or more than twice as much as this i3 CPU....

Intel Core I7 4960X Ivy Bridge E Review New Flagship Old Flagship Encoding Performance

The Core i7-4960X started off the encoding tests with an impressive result, hitting 301.3fps in HandBrake, making it 6% faster than the i7-4770K and 8% faster than the i7-3960X. The Core i7-4960X continued to perform well in our encoding tests, this time delivering 11% more performance than the i7-3960X in the second pass test. This meant that the i7-4960X was also 20% faster than the i7-4770K. Finally we finish the encoding benchmarking with TMPGEnc Video Master Works with a 1080p mkv to mpeg2 conversion....

Intel Core I7 6950X Review The First 10 Core Desktop Cpu Benchmarks Encoding Performance

The 6950X’s HandBrake encoding performance was rather special at 10% faster than the 5960X and 3% faster than the dual Xeons. Testing with Hybrid we see that the 6950X was 12% faster than the 5960X but 2.4% slower than the Xeon E5-2670 processors. The 6950X was 18% faster than the 5960X in the first pass and 23% faster in the second pass when compared to the 5960X.

Intel Core I9 7900X Core I7 7820X And I7 7800X Review Overclocking Power Temps

Up until now the new Syklake-X processors have looked mighty impressive. The 6-core 7800X sucks down the same 193 watts as the 8-core Ryzen 7 1800X – I was hoping it would be closer to the 1600X. Still, the 7800X isn’t really the issue, both the 8-core and 10-core models are considerably more power hungry. Both pushed system consumption over 200 watts and that’s significantly more power than what the 6950X system used....

Intel Core I9 7980Xe 7960X Review Power Temps Overclocking

The Threadripper 1950X sucked down 257 watts and that meant total system consumption was 8% lower than that of the Core i9-7900X. Interestingly the 7980XE actually drew less power than the 7960X in this test. Both CPUs delivered similar performance so this suggests the 7960X had to clock more aggressively to achieve that result and this meant greater power draw. Under full load the 7960X system was consuming around 25% more power than the 1950X while the 7980XE consumed 16% more power....

Intel Core I9 9900K And Core I7 9700K Review Wrap Up Price Vs Performance

If you want to get some rendering work done on a serious budget there’s no beating the Ryzen 5 2600 right now, it’s really not that much slower than the Core i7-8700X and it’s a heck of a lot cheaper. But let’s focus on the new CPUs, the 9900K and 9700K. The 9700K is better than the 8700K in terms of value, but still much worse than the cheaper Ryzen 7 2700X....

Intel Will Launch Its First Blockchain Accelerator Later This Year

Raja M. Koduri hinted at Intel’s blockchain ambitions late last year, but this is the first true confirmation we’ve heard on the matter with supporting details. What’s more, Koduri said Intel expects its circuit innovations to deliver an accelerator that has over 1,000 times better performance per watt than mainstream GPUs for SHA-256 based mining....
