The OCZ RevoDrive 350 revealed some juicy results in our single large file test. Whereas the fastest 2.5" SSDs sustain around 300MB/s in this test, the RevoDrive 350 blasts those results with a throughput of 629MB/s, 91% faster than the Samsung SSD 840 Pro 512GB, 102% faster than the SanDisk Extreme II and 104% faster than the Vertex 450.
The program copy test is comprised of many small non-compressed files (6104 files totaling 2.75GB) and the RevoDrive 350 managed a throughput of 373.7MB/s, the fastest SSD tested at 42% faster than the RevoDrive 3 X2, 84% faster than the Samsung SSD 840 Pro and 87% faster than the SanDisk Extreme II.
The game copy evaluation is a mixture of small and large, compressed and non-compressed files. The OCZ RevoDrive 350 finished off strong with an unexpectedly high result in the game copy test. Generally, SSDs are faster in the game test than they are in the program test but always slower than what we see in the single large file test. Not the RevoDrive 350. Having taken the average from three tests, OCZ’s PCIe drive managed 714.2MB/s in our game test opposed to the 629.2MB/s seen in the single large file test. After each run we powered down the system completely and then booted it back up again to clear any cache data. The RevoDrive 350 delivered similar performance on all three runs. This means with a throughput of 714.2MB/s the RevoDrive 350 is 123% faster than the RevoDrive 3 X2 and 171% faster than the SanDisk Extreme II, not to mention a whopping 186% faster than the Samsung SSD 840 Pro.
