An average of 44fps meant that the GeForce GTX 980 Ti was able to deliver playable performance at 2160p using 2xMSAA in Battlefield Hardline which is impressive. This also meant that the GTX 980 Ti was 6% slower than the Titan X, but 26% faster than the GTX 980. Moreover the GTX 980 Ti was 38% faster than the Radeon R9 290X.
Despite AMD having just released an updated driver (Catalyst 15.5 Beta) for Project CARS that claims a 17% improvement, that wasn’t enough for a respectable level of performance out of the R9 290X. Although we did see between a 10 - 20% improvement, that was at most just 3fps extra, and that meant that the R9 290X was still slower than the GTX 970. The GeForce GTX 980 averaged 41fps at 2160p, allowing it to match the Titan X and defeat the GTX 980 by a 24% margin, while crushing the R9 290X by a 71% margin.
