Metro 2033 makes heavy use of Tessellation and this gives the new GeForce GTX 500 series graphics cards a clear-cut advantage over the rest of the competition. Although the GeForce GTX 570 was 18% slower than the GTX 580 at 1920x1200 it was still 21% faster than the GTX 480, which is huge. This led to a 52% advantage when compared to the GeForce GTX 470 while the GTX 570 was also 57% faster than the Radeon HD 5870. Splinter Cell Conviction Splinter Cell Conviction requires Fraps to measure in-game performance and we recorded 60 seconds of the first level, “Merchant’s Street Market”. The highest visual quality settings were used along with 4xAA/16xAF. The Splinter Cell Conviction results are interesting as the GeForce GTX 570 and GTX 480 both delivered 43fps, making them 10% slower than the GTX 580. This meant that the GeForce GTX 570 was 19% faster than the GeForce GTX 470 and just 5% faster than the Radeon HD 5870.
