The Pentium J2900 was just 12% faster than the Celeron J1900 in Cinebench 11.5’s multi-thread test, while the single thread performance remained much the same.
When it comes to 3D benchmarks, the Pentium J2900 delivers very limited performance due to its integrated Intel HD Graphics. The Pentium J2900 was just 6% faster than the Celeron J1900 while being 34% slower than the Athlon 5350.
The Pentium J2900 doesn’t fare any better in the old 3Dmark06 benchmark, delivering a score of just 2472pts – 3% faster than the Celeron J1900 and 32% slower than the Athlon 5350.
The Pentium J2900 was just 1% faster than the Athlon 5350 in PCMark 7’s system benchmark and 6% faster than the Celeron J1900.
The PCMark 8 home test saw the Pentium J2900 produce a score of 1447pts, making it 6% faster than the Celeron J1900 but 50% slower than the Athlon 5350. Keep in mind GPU performance is also being tested here.
The Pentium J2900 scored 1360pts in the creative suite, or 4% faster than the Celeron J1900.
The Pentium J2900 delivered virtually the same performance as the Celeron J1900 in the work suite as it was just 2% faster. Compared to the Athlon 5350, the J2900 was 40% slower.
The Pentium J2900 performs reasonably well when measuring performance with office applications, though it was slightly slower than the Celeron J1900. That shouldn’t really be possible but after three runs this was the average score. Still, with less than 50pts separating the two, that is well within the PCMark 8 error of margin. Perhaps of greater importance, the J2900 was 10% slower than the Athlon 5350.
