During my day to day use of the convertible, it lasted around the five to six hour mark on average, which isn’t great. I typically look for around the eight hour mark, though some laptops can push that even higher these days. It’s safe to say the Inspiron’s small battery capacity is letting it down in this regard.
As you can see in the benchmarks, the Inspiron 13 7000 2-in-1 does not perform particularly well. Most of this comes down to the small capacity. For example, in the video playback test, the Razer Blade Stealth lasts 30 percent longer, but it also has a 42 percent larger battery. The HP Spectre x360 lasts 46 percent longer in Wi-Fi browsing with a 53 percent larger battery. Had Dell included an appropriately-sized battery, somewhere in the 50 to 60 Wh range, this laptop would have produced very competitive battery life. Unfortunately, though, the limited capacity leads to weak battery life results.
