Here we see a single Xeon E5-2670 processor again deliver performance somewhere between the 6700K and 5960X. Adding a second E5-2670 boosts performance by 61% and we are now seeing a workload completion time of an incredible 1.8 seconds, making the setup about 40% faster than the 5960X.
7-zip is able to take advantage of all those threads offered by the dual Xeon setup, and, as a result, we see a massive score of 61,385 MIPS (Million Instructions Per Second) compared to the 39,509 MIPS of the 5960X. This means that the dual Xeon system is 82% faster than a single E5-2670 and 55% faster than the 5960X.
