The PCmark 7 importing picture test shows that for the most part the lower capacity SSDs were slower than the higher capacity models. The OCZ Vertex 4 128GB was the only exception delivering the same performance as the larger 256GB unit. The same capacity Crucial m4 128GB drive was 15% slower than the Vertex 4 giving OCZ a clear advantage in this test.

For the most part the video editing results were more of the same. This time the Kingston HyperX 3K 90GB stood out with a throughput of 22.7MB/s, making it a fraction faster than virtually every other SSD tested.

The new Samsung SSD 840 120GB takes the lead with 55MB/s, making it slightly faster than the Samsung SSD 830 64GB and Crucial m4 128GB/64GB drives. The Kingston SSDNow V+200 120GB can be found near the bottom of our graph thanks to its use of asynchronous NAND flash memory.

The Samsung SSD 840 120GB was victorious in PCmark 7 once again, this time winning the gaming test though it was only a fraction faster than virtually every other SSD tested.
