Here we tested the ATI graphics cards with DX10.1 enabled, while Nvidia’s used DX10. At 1680x1050 the Radeon HD 5870 was the fastest card tested. However, as the resolution increased, the efficiency of SLI and Crossfire improved, allowing both the Radeon HD 4870 X2 and GeForce GTX 295 to overtake the Radeon HD 5870. That said, with an average of 53fps at 2560x1600, the Radeon HD 5870 was just 7% slower than the Radeon HD 4870 X2 and a significant 83% faster than the single-GPU 4870.
The Last Remnant again shows the Radeon HD 5870 as the fastest single-GPU graphics card tested, losing only to the Radeon HD 4870 X2 and GeForce GTX 295 – but by considerable margins.
