In our action packed test of Crysis Warhead the Radeon HD 5870 had an average frame rate of 29fps at 2560x1600, which is topped only by the dual-GPU GeForce GTX 295 with 38fps. The Radeon HD 4870 and 4890 were again slower than Nvidia’s GeForce GTX 260 graphics card. The Radeon HD 5870 was 12% and 16% faster than the Radeon HD 4870 X2 GeForce GTX 285, respectively, but as much as 24% slower than Nvidia’s GTX 295.

Enemy Territory: Quake Wars favors the ATI Radeon graphics cards in a big way. While the Radeon HD 4870 X2 has been a long time champion of this test, the dual-GPU graphics card has been pushed back into second place by the new Radeon HD 5870. The card produced 106fps at 2560x1600, making it 7% faster than the Radeon HD 4870 X2 and a staggering 74% faster than the Radeon HD 4870.
