DiRT 3 isn’t a game that requires the power of the Radeon R9 295X2, as demonstrated by the 154fps at 2560x1600. The R9 295X2 was just 8% faster than the GeForce GTX 780 SLI cards, while it enjoyed a 46% performance advantage over the GTX 780 Ti and 62% over the R9 290X. Given that we are likely running into a CPU bottleneck at these frame tests it’s not surprising that the R9 295X2 is just 10% faster than the Radeon HD 7990 and 29% faster than the GeForce GTX 690.
The frame time performance of the Radeon R9 295X2 was very good in DiRT 3 taking just 8.4ms between frames at 2560x1600, making it the fastest graphics card tested.
The Radeon R9 295X2 had no trouble spitting out 87fps at 2560x1600 in Far Cry 3 making it 3% faster than the GeForce GTX 780 SLI cards. Meanwhile it was also 58% faster than the GTX 780 Ti and 84% faster than the R9 290X. The R9 295X2 also fared well against the previous generation dual-GPU cards, beating the Radeon HD 7990 by a 35% margin and the GTX 690 by a 45% margin.
This time the Radeon R9 295X2 took just 14.4ms between frames at 2560x1600 which was again enough to make it the fastest graphics card tested.
