The Radeon HD 7790 performed surprisingly well in Tomb Raider at 1680x1050 using the ultra-quality preset with an average of 42.3fps. Yet despite that it was 13% slower than the GeForce GTX 650 Ti, Nvidia has certainly ironed out the performance hiccups of their previous driver.
The Radeon HD 7790 was also slower than the GeForce GTX 650 Ti when measuring frame time performance, 8% slower to be exact.
Resident Evil 6 is one of the latest games we have included in our bench test. Despite being DX11 and offering impressive graphics, it is very GPU friendly. The Radeon HD 7790 averaged 50fps while the GeForce GTX 650 Ti was faster still with 55.7fps.
